The Onesimus Home

Its Purpose at French Camp Academy...

To provide at-risk boys or girls with an alternative, short-term (9 week) living arrangement for confronting the root issues of the heart that fuel destructive attitudes and actions.

How It Works...

Isolating students from their culture, coupled with intentional individual and family counsel, clear presentations of the Gospel of Jesus Christ through multiple truth encounters, an intensive work program, satellite educational extension services with the goal of keeping kids on track academically, and equipping with essential life disciplines will create needed change in the life of the participant. Why? to help young men or women understand their God-given potential.

Essential Relationships Are Key...

The fuel for initiating lasting change will come from key relationships built by loving house parents, a qualified counselor, and seasoned FCA staff. This network of positive adult contact will offer encouragement, insight and coaching.

Encountering Truth...

Students are required to address issues dealing with anger, memorize scripture, read pertinent books associated with their challenge areas, and maintain a daily journal. Students process all their experiences with the help of essential adult relationships.

The Onesimus Home is located on 60 acres of existing property at French Camp Academy, but isolated from the rest of campus. A 4032 square foot structure will accommodate up to ten students and a set of house parents. The Onesimus Home is be self-sustaining; Students participating in the program will help maintain the building and property, learn new skills and deepen their appreciation of a strong work ethic in the process.
